The Best Of Freddie Hubbard is een verzamelalbum met de troptracks van Jazz trompettist Freddie Hubbard.
Hubbard speelde met muzikale jazz giganten als Sonny Rollins, Bill Evans en Quincy Jones. Hij brak pas echt door toen hij ging spelen bij Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers.

Vanaf 1964 startte Hubbard zijn eigen band. Eerst bij Blue Note, daarna ging hij naar Atlantic en vervolgens CTI Records. Zijn stijl werd steeds commerciëler en hij kreeg hierdoor veel kritiek. Desondanks is hij een van de grootste jazztrompettisten ever. Hij wordt ook niet voor niet ‘The Miles Davis of the 1970’s’ genoemd.

Op The Best Of Freddie Hubbard staan 8 tracks met zijn souljazz-, fusion- en funkjazz. Super Blue en Little Sunflower vind ik de twee beste nummers van dit album.
