Het album Reach Out was ook het laatste Four Tops album dat werd geproduceerd door het belangrijkste songwriting- en productieteam van Motown: Holland-Dozier-Holland. Zij verlieten het Motown eind 1967. Er was ruzie. Niet over de muziek, maar over geld.
